Homemade Beef Stew

This homemade beef stew is cooked with potatoes, celery, and carrots. It’s easy, delicious and affordable to make.

  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 1 pound cubed beef stew meat
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

How to Cook

  1. Place into a slow cooker the beef stew meat. mix together In a small bowl the paprika, flour, pepper and salt then sprinkle over beef stew meat, stirring to coat.
  2. Stir in the teriyaki sauce, beef broth, onion, carrots, mushrooms, celery, bay leaf, garlic and potatoes. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours while stirring occasionally.

  • 1/2 cup acini di pepe pasta 
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 pounds sausages, sliced into coin size pieces
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 3 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes with juice

How to Cook

  1. Melt In a large pot the butter and brown the sausage slices then drain fats. Stir into sausage the flour then mix in the tomatoes, chicken broth, basil and oregano.
  2. Boil and lower the heat and simmer until sausage is fully cooked for about 20 minutes. Add pasta and zucchini slices and continue cooking until pasta and zucchini are done.

This delicious stew is cooked with potatoes, tomatoes and onion. Try this easy to follow recipe for a delicious weeknight meal with a little bit of spice.

  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

How to Cook

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat and brown the stew meat and the onions until onions are translucent for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour in the beef broth, chile peppers and diced tomatoes with chiles. Stir in the cumin and garlic salt. Salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Boil and reduce the heat then simmer for about 1 hour. If needed during simmering, add a little more beef broth or water.
  4. Add and simmer the cubed potatoes to the mixture for an additional 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
